BMW Motorrad has officially opened pre-bookings for the F 450 GS in India, with the adventure bike set to officially launch on April 23. Customers can reserve the motorcycle by visiting their nearest dealership and by paying a token amount of Rs 10,000.
Successor To The G 310 GS
The BMW bike will be offered in four variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport, and GS Trophy. Only the top-end GS Trophy variant will get tubeless wire-spoke wheels and more aggressive, knobby tyres, while the rest of the variants will get alloys and road-biased tyres.
The upcoming BMW F 450 GS will go up against rivals like the Honda NX500, Benelli TRK 502, KTM 390 Adventure and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450.
Taking clear inspiration from the flagship BMW R 1300 GS, the baby GS carries forward the iconic design language but in a more compact and approachable package. The bike rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination, fitted with dual-purpose tyres for both on-road and off-road duties.
The F 450 GS gets a 420cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 48PS at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and is equipped with a slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter as standard.
